From the past 25 years or more, we have been investigating volcanic glass in the pyroclastic deposit, which occurs in various places. The investigated deposits are various places such as Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu in Japan (see figure; No.1-13 are more than 10km3), and Indonesia.

Shirasu-balloons
This database includes the original measurement data of these samples such as particle size distributions, chemical compositions and mineral compositions, etc.
Foamed particles (Shirasu-balloons, see microphotograph) are produced using these raw materials by heat treatment. These Shirasu-balloons are used as a filler material for lightweight building materials, and also used as a lightweight filler material for paints, patty and paper clay, etc. The properties of Shirasu-balloons such as particle size distribution, bulk density, particle density, etc. were opened in this database.
In addition, this database, in the Materials Research Institute for Sustainable Development of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, as part of the research, I've created.
